I just received recognition for having spent 50 years in the banking profession. This was awarded by the Community Bankers Association of Illinois. I am President and CEO of a $140 million Community Bank with home office in Chester, IL. About 5 years ago, I purchased a bank in Decatur and merged it into our organization and recently purchased a bank in Warrensburg. Having branch banks in Decatur allows me to get back to Decatur several times a month.
I retired in March after 54 years in banking. I remain on the board of Directors of the bank and am still active in many community activities but am enjoying the freedom of not having to go to work every day. Since I don't like cold weather, we spend part of the winter in Fort Myers Beach. We also enjoy boating at Lake of the Ozarks. We also have a boat at Kentucky Lake. Life is good.
We moved to Decatur in 1957 so I started at MacArthur the first year it was opened. I enjoyed my time at MacArthur.
