I've been a secretary, Illinois Press Association award-winning (8) journalist, professional novelist, cook, bartender, waitress, farmsteader - learned how to milk our family cow, raised beef cattle, chickens, sheep and had my own horse Shiloh - being raised a city girl I didn't do too bad at it either. My loves are my family - grandkids are so fun - fishing, reading, gardening, learning, attending mystery writer conferences, and most importantly writing thriller and suspense novels. My first-in-a-series Manny Shepherd, P.I. mystery, "A Dirty Way To Die" by J. Douglas Knauer remains available at Amazon as both an e-book and trade paperback. My dark thriller Bad Catholics, a Novel by J. Douglas Knauer has had a title revision and a little editing upfront. "The Devil's Heat" is also in both e-book and trade paperback formats at Amazon. My memoir on stubborn fortitude is in constant revision as I search for a literary agent, and the 2nd in the Manny Shepherd P.I. series is under heavy editing/finishing. Previews of published work can be read at my website: www.suspenseiskillingme.net
I flubbed my two lines in the first school play Inner Willy and was first "editor" of, named and picked the cover for the school student directory "The Little Private."
