DECATUR - Sue (Munsie) Stupp, died early Monday, June 11, 2012, after a courageous 20 month battle with a Glioblastoma brain tumor. She was born May 15, 1942 in Decatur, Illinois to Wallace and Ruth (Edwards) Munsie. Sue was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority at Millikin University, Decatur, Illinois. She graduated in 1964 with a degree in Elementary Education. Sue married her husband, Richard Stupp later that year. She taught 2nd grade at Ulrich School in Decatur for three years, before starting a family. Preceding her in death are her father, Wallace Munsie, her stepfather, Neil Ewing, her mother Ruth Munsie Ewing, uncles Richard Edwards, Wallace Buck and Clem Davis and brother-in-laws Ralph Fields and Donald Stupp. Surviving are her loving husband of 47 years, Rick, sons Brian (Cumming, GA), Jeff (Lithia, FL), five grandchildren Lauren, Cole and Abbey (Georgia), Jack and Julia (Florida), sisters Jean Fields, Marjorie (Jim) Griffith, brother Tom (Lisette) Ewing, sister-in-law Sharon Stupp, aunts Barbara Edwards, Naomi Davis and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Having a love for cross-stitch and needlepoint, she had completed many award winning needlework projects which now adorn the house as well as others who have received her needlework gifts. The love of this craft led her to buy the Fancy Threads needlework store in Bath, Ohio in 1984. She loved to help people, teach her art as well as learn from others. She retired in 2005 taking many memories and friends from this entrepreneurial experience. Sue was active as a member of the Stan Hywet Needlework Guild for many years. Sue was also very active at the First Congregational Church in Hudson, serving on many Boards and Committees, including being the Church's Moderator for the 2007-2008 church year. A celebration of Sue's life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 15, 2012 at the First Congregational Church, 47 Aurora Street, Hudson Ohio 44236. Memorials can be made to the First Congregational Endowment Fund. Sue will be inurned in the Memorial Wall in the courtyard of the First Congregational Church in Hudson.
