"New" MacArthur School

Now, thanks to geothermal climate control, every room has a steady temperature, and school board President Brian Hodges, who spoke during the ribbon-cutting and open house Thursday March 26, 2015, assured listeners that the days of narrow halls, lack of natural light and fluctuating temperatures are gone. The renovations of both high schools were made possible largely by the 1 percent sales tax increase approved by Macon County voters in 2010, he said. There are many changes including a recording studio. 

On one wall was a sign reading “Welcome back, Mac” and a T-shirt depicting Gen. Douglas MacArthur, whose famous quote was slightly altered from “I shall return” to “I have returned.”
